Where is the best place to see the fireworks show - are there multiple places to view and see the music?

Hi Linda, and welcome to planDisney! Ending a Disney day with fireworks is pure magic. There’s just something unforgettable about standing with your loved ones, watching the night sky light up, and moving along to the joyful (and sometimes tear-jerking!) music.

Fireworks are typically scheduled on select nights at Disneyland, so I recommend checking the Daily Events Schedule before your trip or using the Disneyland app during your visit to confirm showtimes. If fireworks are planned, you’ll see the note “with Fireworks” next to that evening’s spectacular. Just a quick reminder: fireworks performances are weather-dependent and may be canceled if conditions aren’t ideal.

When fireworks are available, there are several places around the park that offer their own unique perspectives. The most iconic, of course, is in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The castle often serves as the heart of the show, with fireworks dancing around its spires and vibrant projections lighting up its facade. If this view is on your must-do list, plan to arrive a few hours early to secure your spot. This area fills up quickly!

Another enchanting option is Main Street, where you’ll see the fireworks soaring above and be fully surrounded by music and projections, with images playing across the charming buildings around you. I also have a Q-Tip for this location: one of the best viewing spots is across from the Candy Palace. It offers an immersive experience with a stunning view of the sky.

An equally magical option is the area near “it’s a small world.” While you won’t catch the castle-centric effects, you’ll still enjoy a full view of the fireworks and synchronized music. Plus, projections stretch across the entire “it’s a small world” facade, sometimes with exclusive visuals you won’t see elsewhere. This spot usually has more space, so you can arrive closer to showtime and still score a great view.

If you’re attending the first Fantasmic! performance of the evening, stick around afterward! You’ll be able to watch the fireworks, hear the music, and see projections on the water screens used during the show. If you’re seated for Fantasmic, you're welcome to stay right there for the fireworks—it’s like getting a second show for the price of one!

For a galactic twist, head to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during Fire of the Rising Moons. When this show is paired with fireworks, you’ll enjoy the same spectacular effects choreographed to selections from John Williams’ Star Wars scores. The best viewing areas are near the Millennium Falcon, the TIE Echelon docking platform, and the speeder garage.

As you can see, Linda, there are many ways to experience the magic of Disneyland’s fireworks. My personal favorites are along Main Street and by “it’s a small world.” But no matter where you watch from, you’re sure to end your Disney day with a bang!

    Wishing you a magical adventure!
