Hi Suzanne,
We are thrilled that you buzzed on by planDisney with your question!
I am so excited to see the new, magical drone light show at Disney Springs,
Disney Dreams that Soar this summer. (Fun Fact: I am a licensed drone pilot myself!) As you can imagine, I have been asking all of my pals who have had the chance to watch the dancing drones for viewing tips, and now I am glad to share them with you. Let's get to it!
The most convenient way to enjoy delicious dining and catch the perfect view of the show would be from your reserved patio table at either
Jaleo or
Summer House on the Lake. Both locations have announced an option to secure outdoor dining through their websites for a cover fee, and are offering interesting food and beverage options. If the guaranteed outdoor seating isn't right for you, don't worry! You can still enjoy their incredible flavors with a regular
Advance Dining Reservation.
If you decide to dine elsewhere, you will absolutely want to watch from the dedicated waterfront viewing area in Disney Springs. That way, you can see all 400 vertical feet of dancing drones straight on, rather than skewed. Keep in mind that the entrance to the waterfront is in the Disney Springs West Side, behind
House of Blues, and is roped off. So, make sure to give yourself time to walk over, find your spot, and get settled.
Some great options would be:
I like to budget two hours for any Table Service meal at Walt Disney World. Perhaps that is because we have one v.e.r.y slow grazer in our family, but that tends to keep us on track. Since the show begins at 9 PM and I would want to plan for 30-45 minutes to find a spot and settle in, be sure to secure your table no later than 6:30 PM. That should give you time to wrap up your delicious meal and stroll over to the viewing area without stress.
If you end up being a little early, check out what is available at
Super Hero Headquarters or
Star Wars Galactic Outpost. Their unique selections are always fun to browse on a casual, Disney Springs day.
I hope that was helpful, Suzanne! Come back and let us know if you have any other questions. We are always here to help.
On with the show!
