What is the best park to visit for 4 and 6 year olds?

    Hi there!

Welcome to planDisney! As a mom to a 4-, 6-, and 8-year-old, I’m so happy to help you out!

Now, I hate to be that person that doesn’t give a direct answer. But the answer really is…it depends! Let’s chat about each park to help you decide which park will work best for your family.

First up, Magic Kingdom. To me, this park is quintessential Disney! This is where you’ll get all of those Cinderella Castle photos and be able to wave to your favorite characters during the parade. It’s the perfect mix of classic and new Disney stories. It’s also the park that has the most kid-friendly rides (by far), so you’ll have plenty to do throughout the day.

Next, Hollywood Studios. This has become one of the parks my boys most look forward to now that they’re starting to love more of the thrill rides. Depending on the height of your kids and how adventurous they are, you may very well be able to enjoy rides like Slinky Dog Dash and Rise of the Resistance. Hollywood Studios is also home to my boys’ all-time favorite ride, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. If your kids are Star Wars and/or Toy Story fans, this park might be at the top of your list.

Moving onto Epcot. While it may seem like this park isn’t as kid-friendly as the others, my boys absolutely love it there! Epcot has the best play areas out of all the theme parks in my boys’ opinions. And if you have a princess lover in your family, this park would be perfect to meet some of their favorites. If you visit, check out the Kidcot Fun Stops around the World Showcase!

Finally, Animal Kingdom. This park has the smallest number of attractions, but the extra experiences around the park make it well worth the visit. My boys have been begging to go back to The Animation Experience there, and they love getting Wilderness Explorer badges around the park. This park feels the most laid-back to me, which is a great feeling as a parent at Disney World.

Honestly, we’re big fans of planning our trip so that we can visit all 4 parks, whether that’s one park per day or by adding on the park hopper option to our ticket. There truly is something we love about each and every park.

If I HAD to choose one single park, though, my vote would be for Magic Kingdom because you can easily fill up an entire day (and then some!) when visiting that park.  There’s so much to do there for all ages, but especially 4- and 6-year-olds.

I hope that at least gives you some guidance as you plan! Let me know if you have any other questions about going to Disney with littles!
