Hello Ivy!
Congratulations on your first trip to
Walt Disney World! How exciting! And it sounds like you have a great package with five days to explore the four theme parks and
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park!
I want your first trip to be absolutely magical, so I'm going to share my best itinerary planning tips! With kids ages 10 and 13, there is so much to do and experience!
Given that you are coming from Minnesota, I am assuming you are flying. On your first day of arrival, I recommend visiting
EPCOT since you will most likely be exploring the park in the later afternoon/evening hours. EPCOT is an excellent park to visit at night because you can eat dinner around the World Showcase, ride Spaceship Earth, and enjoy
Harmonious and
Beacons of Magic. You will be here during the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival so make sure to check out the gorgeous
topiaries and outdoor kitchens.
I recommend visiting
Disney's Magic Kingdom on your second day because you will be fresh and have a lot of energy! Magic Kingdom has many attractions and dining experiences that your kids will enjoy.
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin,
Haunted Mansion, and
Jungle Cruise are "must-do" attractions. I also encourage you to make an
advanced dining reservation at
Crystal Palace. This all-you-care-to-eat restaurant has something for everyone and your kids will love it.
Typhoon Lagoon would be great to visit on your third day, followed by
Disney's Hollywood Studios on the fourth day. Your kids will love
Star Wars Galaxy's Edge,
Toy Story Land, and dining at
Mama Melrose's Ristorante.
When I have a morning in the parks, I like to visit
Disney's Animal Kingdom. The animals are more active in the morning, so it's a great place to ride
Kilimanjaro Safaris and see the animals. I recommend that park on your last day before you leave.
I hope you have a magical vacation!
Magically,
Stacy
