What is the best way to pack for a day at BB? Are lockers convenient to go back and retrieve KTTW card for lunch? Thoughts on renting chair/umbrella based on crowd levels week of 8/11? Thx for all the great advice on the panel!

I like to travel light. One of the things I loved about Blizzard Beach was the ability to stow everything away in the locker and go off to have some fun.

I found that the lockers, while not necessarily central to the park, were ideally located. Whenever I needed my Key to the World card, the locker always seemed to be nearby/on the way to whatever I needed the card for, like the stores or dining options. So I would say YES to your first question.

As for renting the chair/umbrella, I send you another YES. And not just because the crowd levels are going to be rather notable at that time of August. Also I say yes not just because in August the heat is something to be very mindful of, due to the risks of sunburn, and worse.

More than for these two reasons, I think that at the water parks the biggest reason to rent them is for the advantage of having a 'home base', which makes it well worth the cost. I find it to be a real plus on any water park day. We like to take regular breaks, especially to get a bit of shade, and before you could reserve spots it got very stressful to find a safe harbor to get away from the Orlando sun.

As for packing, remember water shoes, as the pavement gets so hot it can burn the bottom of your feet. Bring your own sunscreen, if you have it, as buying it there can put a big dent in your wallet. Otherwise, try to keep what you bring to a minimum so that it all fits in the locker. You really don't want to leave any personal items out, even by a rented chair/umbrella.

    I hope that this helps!

    Have a magical vacation!
