Howdy, Nicole! Welcome to planDisney, where we give Texas-sized tips for
Walt Disney World Resort visits! You'll be arriving from the Lone Star State soon, so let's talk about rustling up some vittles during your stay.
I recommend doing some online research to compare delivery fees, availability, and selection to determine which grocery chain best serves you and your posse. Here in Florida, Publix is always a tried-and-true option, but feel free to look at other stores as well.
Place your order early and specify a delivery window that works best for you.
Bell Services at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort will hold your order, and they might even have space for a few refrigerated items. I usually keep those items to a minimum since storage space may be limited.
Please note that if you order items that require an ID, such as tobacco or alcohol, you'll need to be present to accept and sign for the delivery.
While villas and suites often include a refrigerator, the
standard rooms at Caribbean Beach Resort feature a small beverage cooler, so please keep that in mind if you plan to order dairy items.
If you pick up your order, there's no charge. I like to tip Bell Services for storing my items, but you'll take them to your room yourself. If you prefer to have them delivered to your room, most resorts charge around $6, fees subject to change. You can check the latest
grocery delivery information here.
It sounds like you've booked private transportation from the airport; I like your style! You could check whether your driver would stop by a grocery or convenience store on the way to your resort. It never hurts to ask!
Finally, I've found that most gift shops at Disney Resort Hotels offer some basic grocery items. I recently saw peanut butter, bread, chips, and more at the
Calypso Trading Post. They had beverages like soft drinks and even adult libations. The
Centertown Market Grab & Go also has snacks and drinks, so you might wait until you're on-site to decide if you need to order groceries.
Nicole, I hope your upcoming visit is a real hootenanny! Please stop by
planDisney with any additional questions. Much obliged!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
