Hello Epfinio!
Welcome again to planDisney! Traveling with little ones is both an adventure in patience and endurance. Who knew that such little people require so many things? Car seats and safe transportation, however, are one of those things that one cannot take a chance on.
After some searching through my experiences and the internet, I have some solutions for you:
1.
MEARS Connect- This bus shuttle service has a long history of operation and success here in Orlando. The shuttle buses (aka motorcoach buses) do not require children to wear car seats. The shuttle van options which are smaller vehicles may require a car seat. I use MEARS Connect quite often and have only had the smaller shuttle van option offered to me when I left Terminal C at MCO. This is the newer terminal and not as busy so I understand why a smaller vehicle was offered. If leaving from Terminal A or B, the buses will most likely be what you get. Check your flight information and see where you end up landing.
2.
Uber Car Service- The car seat option is now available in Orlando. You can request it through the Uber app and find the option for a vehicle with a car seat. They do charge a surcharge and can only provide one seat. According to Uber the car seat they will provide is a Nuna RAVA seat which can be rear-facing or forward-facing and is for children weighing between 5 and 65 pounds.
3.
Rent a Car with a car seat- I pretended to rent a car from a few major Car Rental companies and found many had options to add on a booster seat, child seat, and infant child seat! The seats did require an additional fee and you can book more than one seat in a few combinations. This is a great option to guarantee a seat that's right for your little ones. I have done this before and I had no issue. I did wipe the seat down well before use as I am a paranoid germaphobe mother.
4.
Bring a car seat and be ready for anything. Now, I have done this option the most when my little ones were so very little. I had a set of car seats that I solely used for travel that were the lightest options available to save my back. (Okay, my husband's back.) I know it is not "packing lightly" but it is reassuring to have the seat on hand just in case.
Thankfully, once you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort you will have plenty of options for
safe transportation. The monorail, buses, and
Disney Skyliner do not require car seats for children. I suggest baby wearing your littlest one for those transportation options. If you are looking for something a little fancier and provides two car seats then I suggest the
Minnie Van service. Minnie Vans are requested via the Lyft app and are operated by Disney Cast Members. The Minnie Vans can only be operated on Disney Property and it can you and your family to the Resorts, Parks, Golf Courses, and Disney Springs. There used to be an airport option but it is only available to Guests who are staying in a Club-level room at a Walt Disney World Resort. If you are interested in learning more about Resort transportation, planDisney has a
fun podcast where we gab all about it.
I hope this was helpful and that you find your way to the magic safely with your whole family!
Happy Planning!
