What is my best option to save money on purchasing tickets and/or dining plans? There are 2 adults and a 3 yr old little girl.

    Hi Alyssa,

This is a tough question because you give me little information about the length or time of your trip. However, let me offer you some guidelines.

As for tickets, with a young child or first trips, I usually recommend buying just a Magic Your Way ticket without options. This allows you to concentrate on one park a day and just enjoy that park for the day. You do not feel the pressure to hop between parks because you paid for the option. Also, the more days you buy, the cheaper your trip so this can be a cost savings as well. Tickets are not discounted unless they are in a package.

As for the dining plans, for a child, the dining plan makes sense. You can not purchase the food individually for a child for the price of the dining plan.

I recommend you sign up for emails from Disney to receive discounts on dining and resorts. Other great sites for deals are Mousesavers.com and Allearsnet.com. Disney often offer specials on resorts and free dining. You can also save money by traveling during key months such as the winter, after Easter until Memorial Day and the fall.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
