Sharae,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
December is such a wonderful time of year to visit Walt Disney World! The holiday decorations add to the overall experience, and the evening shows seem to glitter even more than usual.
If you break December into four weeks, know that the last two are by far the busiest. They are typically the busiest weeks of the year, not just of the month. So, these are not your best options. So that leaves your first two weeks. Either is going to be a good option, but if I had to choose, the second of the two weeks should be a bit lighter.
BONUS TIP #1Swimming in December at Walt Disney World can be a roll of the dice. I have been there in December when the temperatures were perfect for it, as well as visited when even sitting out by the pool would have been less than ideal. Even though Disney does heat the pools somewhat (82 degrees Fahrenheit or 28 degrees Celsius), I would not rely on swimming weather, and let it be a nice surprise if it does work out for you.
BONUS TIP #2As you plan your trip, make sure you take into account the evenings when the parks have special events. I love these parties, for the wonderful themes and the lighter crowd levels. However, if you are not going to purchase tickets to
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom or
Disney's Jollywood Nights at Disney's Hollywood Studios, you may want to go to other parks on those days. That way your day at the park does not have to end uncharacteristically early.
