My best friend and I (we are 20) are going to Disney in January of 2013. I was just wondering about the budgeting as well as what we should do about lodging/food/ souvenir costs. This is my first time ever going to WDW and I couldn't be more excited!

Hi Brittany! I'm so excited for you! You and your BFF are going to have the best time! The good thing is that you're planning well in advance, so it will be easier to save money. I'm a big fan of putting money away every week. It's always amazing how quickly it adds up!

Your first step should be to choose a resort. Once you have your dates set, decide where you want to stay. Since you're trying to save money, I highly recommend a value resort. You enjoy all the perks of staying on Disney property and can't beat the prices. Check the special offers page of the Disney website often, as great deals often come up.

The next step is to choose your dining. Check out all the Disney restaurants, they range from inexpensive to pricey. The AllEars website lists all the menus with current prices, so you can get an idea of what you'll spend.

Hope this helps in getting you started Brittany! Write back with any other questions!
