    What would be the best for our family, Mom, Dad, girl 11, girl 8 and boy 6, Dinner at Hollywood and Vine at 4:00 with VIP for Fasmatic at 7:00 or 50's Primetime Cafe at 5:45. First time there. Also eating at Chefs M, Boma, HDDR, Biergarten

    Larry,

    That is an easy one. 50s Prime Time Cafe is the far better choice, even though you don't get the Fantasmic pass. Here is why;

    • The food at 50s Prime Time is fantastic
    • The entertainment at 50s is better (especially since there is none at dinner at Hollywood & Vine), in fact it is one of my very favorite dining entertainment experiences in all of Walt Disney World
    • The pass to Fantasmic does not get you the best seating, just an assured seat, assuming you arrive in time
    OK, so is is likely you will miss the Fantasmic 7pm show, as you are dining at what really works out as 6pm. But in my book, dinner isn't supposed to be at 4, and where I eat is more important than one single attraction. Is there another day you can watch that show?

    Another note is this; much of the mealtime entertainment is often something your 11 year old may get bored with. This is a place where she may feel like the trip is for her too, when you opt for fun better suited to her, as opposed to another kiddie character experience.

    Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
