What's best? Disney Dining Plan or Disney Dining Experience? I have the DDE card (annual passholder) but I'm trying to see if it's best to book 2 rooms with the DDP? Can you help?

    Hi Jeanette,

This is a great question.  I have used both the Disney Dining Experience card and the Disney Dining Plan.  Both have their advantages.

Since you have the Annual Pass, you need to figure in the cost of the room reserved with a passholder discount vs not having a passholder discount.

After you figure the room portion, you have to look at the meal side.  The Basic Dining Plan provides you 1 counter service, 1 table service and one snack a day.  The Deluxe provides three meals with either counter or table service and two snacks a day.  As stated in my previous posts, this is a lot of food to eat and could interfere in touring because I know my family would not sit that long for meals.

However, if you have big eaters or you want to experience a finer quality of restaurants, the Dining Plan would be a benefit.

Finally, I had a friend who was trying to decide between dining package with no hotel discount or hotel discount and no dining package.  In the end, he had a greater savings going with the hotel discount and he paid for his own meals.

    Enjoy your vacation!
