Hey Howdy Hey Niki,
Welcome to plan Disney. It is a fantastic time to be planning a trip to
Walt Disney World Resort. Not only is
The World's Most Magical Celebration under way, but the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is also in full swing. Yummy!
Now, let's talk about character dining. While there are a few
character dining locations that are temporarily unavailable, there are so many great choices, that it is hard to pick just one but we typically make our selections on two criteria. - what characters we will see and the menu.
We are big Stitch fans so we were thrilled to hear Lilo and Stitch will return as part of the 'Ohana Best Friends Breakfast (located at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort) in late September. This all you can eat breakfast buffet is one of our favorites! Not only can we have Mickey Mouse waffles and bacon, getting a big hug from Stitch is a perfect way to start the day. We give this character meal two big thumbs up.
One of the most popular character dining experiences is
Chef Mickey's. Located inside
Disney's Contemporary Resort, this character dining experience is available for breakfast and dinner and treats you to time with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald and Pluto. This is a definite must-do as there is something truly magical about watching the monorail sail through the resort while hanging out with the Fab Five.
Another of our favorites is Winnie the Pooh and Friends at
The Crystal Palace. These characters will be heading back to
Magic Kingdom, from Hundred Acre Woods, at the end of September for lunch and dinner. I have a soft spot for Eeyore and I am fairly sure Crystal Palace serves my sons' absolute favorite mashed potatoes ever so this is often on our repeat list.
Last but not least, and my family's absolute favorite character meal is
Garden Grill Restaurant located inside The Land Pavilion at
EPCOT. They offer lunch and dinner and the menu is all you can eat family style that include barbecue roasted chicken, grilled beef, macaroni and cheese that will melt in your mouth and the best green beans I have ever had. You will get to dine with Mickey Mouse, Pluto and Chip and Dale and an added bonus is the restaurant actually rotates around the
Living with the Land attraction. As my kids say - everything is bursting with farm fresh flavor and we always seem to have just a little more time with the Disney pals when dining here. I do not think you can go wrong with this choice.
Hopefully these tips will help you pick the character dining meal that is just right for you and your family. If you need any additional tips or help, I hope you will
stop back and see me.
Hope to see ya real soon.
