Hi Christina, and welcome to planDisney. Starting the day at Animal Kingdom and then heading to eat at T-REX sounds like a ROAR-ing good time! So let’s talk about the best way to get to your meal with the dinos.
Unfortunately, there aren’t any direct buses between the theme parks and Disney Springs, but you do have a few different options! And the best one really depends on your personal preference.
Using a combination of
bus and
water transportation is probably the most scenic way to get to Disney Springs. And the boat dock is pretty close to T-REX, less than a quarter of a mile away (it usually takes my family about 5 minutes to walk). To do this, you can take a bus to
Saratoga Springs Resort,
Old Key West Resort,
Port Orleans - Riverside, or
Port Orleans - French Quarter, which all have water transportation to Disney Springs. I’d recommend taking the bus to Port Orleans - French Quarter since that resort only has one bus stop (the larger resorts have multiple internal bus stops, which can take extra time). And, while you’re there, you might want to pick up some beignets from
Scat Cat's Club - Cafe before walking over to the French Quarter boat dock!
While the boat is very relaxing, personally I like to avoid transferring to a boat or a second bus. So I usually opt for the bus to Saratoga Springs Resort. Once you get there, stay on the bus until you get to the Congress Park stop. It’s close to the pedestrian bridge to Disney Springs and about a half-mile walk to T-REX. If you need help finding the walkway, open the My Disney Experience app and search for T-REX. On the restaurant’s page, you’ll see buttons to Find on Map or Get Directions.
Finally, another direct transportation option is to take a ride-share service or a
Minnie Van from Animal Kingdom to Disney Springs. Depending on how long you have to wait for the ride-share or Minnie Van to arrive, it could be your fastest option, which is a great backup if you’re running late. If you’re taking regular ride-share be sure to pick the Marketplace Loop as your drop-off spot (the West Side Bus Loop is far from T-REX). Minnie Vans have one drop off location, and it's near where the resort buses drop off. Both are just a touch longer of a walk than from the Disney Springs boat dock.
Since it sounds like you'll have a dino loving crew with you, be sure to check out what’s left of DinoLand before it goes extinct to
make way for the new Tropical Americas land! Don’t miss the chance to go on a secret mission to find an Iguanadon on
DINOSAUR. And check out my favorite snack, the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich over at
Dino-Bite Snacks. It’s technically shareable, but it’s so yummy you might not want to!
I hope you have an amazing time at T-REX, and say hi to the dinos for me! If you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
