Whats the best way to get from AK Lodge to Flying Fish Rest?

    Hi Kim,

Love the Flying Fish Cafe, great choice! The easiest way to get from the Animal Kingdom Lodge to the restaraunt, if the parks are still open, is to travel by bus to either Epcot or Hollywood Studios. From both of these locations you can either walk or take a boat.

At Hollywood Studios there is a walkway that runs from near the bus stops along the waterway to the Boardwalk resort. There is also a boat launch not to far from the security point at DHS that will take you to the Epcot resort area. You will stop at the Dolphin/Swan and Yacht/Beach Club first so if you are in a hurry the walkway is usually quicker.

At Epcot you would enter through the main gates and head to the World Showcase. In between England and France, if you continue straight from England and do not make the left turn over the bridge to France, you will find the back exit from Epcot to the resort areas. It is a short walk to your left, to the boardwalk area and the restaraunt. There is a boat that also runs from the back exit to all three Epcot resort launches but the walk is again the shorter trip.

If these parks are closed prior to your reservation or you are returning back to AKL late, you can take a bus from either resort to Downtown Disney and then catch a new bus to your desired location. This route will take longer but is free-the quicker but more expensive alternative would be a cab from one place to another.

If you have time before or after your reservation, be sure to stroll the boardwalk and take in some of the sights and nighttime entertainment. It is a beautiful area. Enjoy!
