Besides Art of Animation, what other opportunities are available for my daughter who is an artist and interested in animation to meet one of the Disney animators? We'll be at WDW at the end of Feb 2016 for her sweet 16.

    Hi Mary Beth,

You must be very proud of the path your daughter is taking with her interests in art and animation.  Sadly, The Magic of Disney Animation attraction closed at Disney's Hollywood Studios closed in July of this year. Your daughter can, however, stroll through Disney's Art of Animation Resort to see the wonderful characters depicted in this architectural marvel.  To my knowledge, there are no events where your daughter can meet an actual Disney animator.  The closest thing to meeting with some of the brains behind Disney, is the Dine With An Imagineer event that is held on select dates at The Hollywood Brown Derby.  It is billed as a "discussion with the creative minds that make Disney magic come to life."

I wish your daughter good luck as she pursues her career, and hopefully someday we will see her name on the credits of a Disney animated feature.

    Be Magical,

    Leanne T.

Walt Disney captured my heart as a little girl and has not let go since. As a parent and grandparent, I have been to the Walt Disney World Resort with children of all ages, and also as empty nesters. I would like to share my years of experience so that you are able to start your own tradition of Walt Disney World memories, just as I have. Learn More About Leanne
