Ahoy, Julie!
It is great to hEAR from you again! Your sailing on the majestic
Disney Fantasy is coming up soon! I know how excited you must be to start the new yEAR with Mickey. And you'll love having an entire week to enjoy all this vessel has to offer.
Julie, you've asked a great question about using
MagicBands while on a Disney Cruise. At this time, MagicBands are not used onboard Disney Cruise Line. If you have sailors between the ages of 3 and 12, they will wEAR an Oceaneer Band that is very similar to a MagicBand. These are used for checking in and out of
Disney's Oceaneer Club and
Oceaneer Lab, and any allergies or medical conditions a participant may have are linked to the band. There's no fee for the Oceaneer Band unless it is lost, or if you'd like to keep it as a souvenir, which is an option. If the band is kept, a nominal fee will be charged to your stateroom account.
When you check-in for your cruise at
Port Canaveral, you'll receive a "Key to the World" card for each member of your family. This will serve as your stateroom key, ship identification, photo card, and your "key" to paying for all your onboard purchases. Many Guests like the convenience of using a lanyard while onboard. Members of
Disney Castaway Club (Guests who have sailed on Disney Cruise Line at least once) or
Disney Vacation Club receive a complimentary lanyard at check-in. If you are not a returning cruiser or Disney Vacation Club Member, you may want to bring your own or check the onboard
merchandise shops once they open after sail away.
Julie, I'm so glad you cruised by with another question about your upcoming sailing. Please let us know if we can assist you again before you are casting off to the Caribbean!
