Welcome Back to planDisney, Jaynee!
As
Disney Vacation Club Members, we have enjoyed multiple stays at
Disney's Old Key West Resort and always recommend it to Guests who are looking for extra space in their villa or a relaxing, tropical atmosphere. Part of Old Key West's appeal is the sprawling nature of the Villas, so I can definitely understand questions about transportation within the Resort. Let's take a look at getting you to your Villa once you arrive at
Walt Disney World Resort!
I confirmed with a Cast Member that there is an internal shuttle at Old Key West that will transport you to each section of the Resort. The shuttle will depart from the Hospitality House, so you would need to board at that point. Bell Services will be happy to take your luggage to your room so you don't have to take it on the shuttle. As far as grocery deliveries, you have a few options. You can either meet the delivery at the main entrance or have it delivered to Bell Services until you can collect the order; make sure it is addressed with the Guest's name on the reservation. If there are age-restricted items in the order (like alcohol), you would need to be present for delivery. The Cast Member I spoke with did note that there is a small charge if you would like the grocery delivery brought to your room from Bell Services.
Old Key West has some of our favorite dining options, especially
Olivia's Cafe. We also have a family member who needs to avoid gluten, so I know the importance of knowing menu items in advance. Almost all dining at Walt Disney World should be able to offer an alternate gluten-free menu, including
Turtle Shack Poolside Snacks. However, the Cast Member I spoke with cautioned that specific items could not be guaranteed in advance to be available. They recommended checking with the location upon arrival.
Thank you for visiting planDisney. We are here for all your Disney Vacation Club questions!
Enjoy making magical memories!
