Very beginning stages of planning 4-night on the Dream to Bahamas. Traveling will be me, my husband, 2 kids, and my mom. Wondering what the best/cost effective option for rooms would be? Definitely want 1 with a verandah and separate room for my mom.

    Ahoy, Alissa!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! The Disney Dream is a spectacular ship, so I know your crew will have the most magical vacation. DCL has some of the most spacious staterooms at sea, so I think you'll find the accommodations just right. There are two verandah stateroom options-the Deluxe Oceanview Verandah and the Deluxe Family Oceanview Verandah. The second option will be a bit more price wise because it's about 50 sq. ft. larger than just the Deluxe Verandah Stateroom. Both will have the very convenient split bath option that includes one bathroom with a vanity, sink and shower/tub combo and the other with the vanity, sink and toilet. Other standard accommodations I love are the privacy curtain between the sleeping areas and the upper-berth pull down bed for the fourth Guest. Prices may be higher depending on which deck and area of the ship you select for your room. Staterooms on higher decks and midship are priced a bit higher than the lower level decks and rooms in the aft (back) and forward (front).  If your mom doesn't need a balcony, there are oceanview and inside staterooms that will be priced lower. If you want to do one verandah and one inside, you could try to find two that are across the hall from each other. Sometimes, Guaranteed staterooms are offered at a lower cost. If you choose this option, DCL will assign your room number, so this is a great choice to save a little if you don't care about location. I've stayed all over the ships in all different types of staterooms, and I've never been disappointed because all locations have perks to them. The only other tip I can think of is to book as early as you can! Stateroom prices tend to rise as the sail date draws closer so locking in your fare early is my best advice!
Thank you for continuing to use the Moms Panel, Alissa! Please keep us posted as you think of additional cruise questions!
    Have a magical day!
