In the beginning stages of planning our first ever trip to Disneyland. Wondering what your recommendations are for the time of year to visit weather wise. When is it not too crowded but warm enough to enjoy the resort pools?

    Hi there!

Thank you for your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Jackie. I'm so thrilled to hear you are planning your first trip to The Happiest Place on Earth. You are sure to make magical memories that will last a lifetime!

Disney days are the best days and like you, we prefer lower crowds as well. The parks are always popular and trends can always change. Typically, the Disneyland Resort has lower crowds from Mid-April through mid-May (except during Spring Break) and from Mid-September through mid-November (except during Halloween Time).

I would suggest visiting mid-week if you can, that will help with the crowd levels too. Whenever we are planning our next magical vacation to the Disney Parks, I often Google the dates I am contemplating booking like, "April 2014 Disneyland Crowd Calendar" to compare the links that come up.

The bonus about the Disneyland Resort Hotels is that the pools are heated and open year round. The weather in Anaheim is also fairly mild with average temperatures in the upper-70's in April and an average low in the mid-50's. You will want to pack a light jacket or cardigan for the evenings since the California evenings cool down just a bit. When you choose your magical date, and your vacation approaches, be sure to check your favorite weather outlet for the most up-to-date forecast.

I hope this is helpful and that you have a Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah time. If you have any more questions, please visit me here and let me know how I can help you plan your pixie-dusted vacation.

    Have a magical adventure!
