Hello moms. I am beginning to plan our 1st trip to WDW with our 2 boys ages 10 & 8 in Oct. What length of stay you would recommend to be able to enjoy all 4 parks? Any particular attractions or activities you would recommend for our family? Thank yo

    Charleen,

How exciting to be planning your first Disney vacation!  You have chosen an excellent time to visit; in fact, October is actually my family's favorite month to vacation!

To see and experience most of the major attractions in all four parks, I typically recommend that you allow at least 6 days.  Two days each for the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and one day each for Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.  And of course, any extra days that you can visit will just add to the fun!

Two big events will be going on while you are there.  The first is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party in the Magic Kingdom.  I highly recommend this!  I remember when we were planning our first fall visit and how I debated over whether or not it would be worth the separate admission price.  I decided to go for it, and I am so glad we did!  It immediately became a must-do for our family, and we return every year.

The second is the Food & Wine Festival in Epcot.  Yum!  This is a fun way to sample food and beverages from around the world, and also a great value if you are visiting on the Disney Dining Plan, as you can use your snack credits to sample the international cuisine.

    Have a great vacation!
