I am just in the beginning phase of planning a trip for my family in April. We have two girls 5 and 3. I have heard quite a bit about character meals...how do I go about booking them or checking on availability before I plan the trip dates? Any schedules

You can book character meals (and all table service dining at WDW) up to 180 days in advance. You can even book character meals before you have your hotel reservation.

You can make reservations for meals via phone at 407-WDW-DINE or online via the WDW website. To use the website, run your mouse over the large tab at the top of the page that says "Book" then mouse over to the link that says "Dining Reservations."

There are character meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the parks and in the resorts, featuring a wide range of Disney characters. My suggestion would be to start your planning at the wonderful independent website allears.net. Search there for "character dining" and you will find good overviews of the character dining locations.

    Good luck!
