Where to begin, first of all i want to know if first week of November is a good month to visit WDW (crowded or not and weather wise). We are probably staying at a disney resort and want to know if we can easily rent a car from there to visit elsewhere?

Any time is a great time to visit WDW, but typically the first week of November is an ideal time to visit based on crowds and weather. The first week of November is part of Disney's value season and is considered one of the least crowded times in attendance. The average temperature at that time of the year is highs in the upper seventies and lows in the upper fifties, and the average rainfall is in the lower percentage for the area.

We were just there the first week of November in 2008 and the weather was warm, with none of the summer humidity, and there was no rain during our stay. Depending on when you arrive, you may be there in time to celebrate Halloween Disney style (don't miss Micey's Not So Scary Halloween Party) and the Epcot Food and Wine Festival may still be going on. This festival features amazing food and wine samples from all over the world, displayed around the World Showcase Lagoon.

If you choose to stay on property the Disney transportation system will get you to most Disney locations with relative ease, but if you do elect to rent a car you may do so from the Orlando International Airport. You can also find an Alamo and National rental location at the Magic Kingdom Auto Plaza (407-824-3470). There are options for dependable shuttle services to local attractions, off Disney property, by contacting Mears Transportation at 407-423-5566, and you can easily catch a taxi cab from the front of all WDW resorts.
