Ahoy, Angela!
Thank you for cruising over to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! Planning your vacation budget is always an important part of the process when preparing for a magical voyage onboard Disney Cruise Line! For the most part, the Disney ships are all cash-free. Your onboard purchases will be placed on your "Key to the World" card that will be linked to your credit card. If you purchase a beer, you can estimate around $4.00 to $6.00 per can/bottle and about a dollar or two more for draft beer with an additional 15% gratuity added in. Disney Cruise Line does offer a beer mug program you may be interested in. The 22 oz. mug (around $15.00 to $16.00) gets filled for the price of a 16 oz. draft beer (around $7.00), so it can save you a little if you plan to drink beer throughout the sailing. Each time you finish the mug, you can trade it in for a token, so you don't have to carry your mug around. A clean, chilled mug will be ready for you when you trade the token back in, and you can take home a clean mug to use for years to come. The mugs along with 6-packs of imported or domestic beer packages can be purchased in the
Gift and Amenities section on the Disney Cruise Line website or once onboard. It is also an option to bring some beer with you.
Disney Cruise Line's alcohol policy does state Guests 21 years of age or older can bring six bottles or cans of beer no more than 12 oz. each in their carry-on luggage at the beginning of the cruise and at each port of call. If more beer is brought than allowed the cruise line will hold it until the end of the sailing.
Angela, I hope I've steered you in the right direction! If you think of anything else, please let us know!
Have a magical day!
Nancy
