Hello William, and Welcome Home!
I have only had the pleasure of staying in a Grand Villa on one occasion, but it was a wonderful experience. We shared a Grand Villa at
Disney’s Old Key West Resort with our friends, and the kids had a blast being together on vacation!
Even with 12 of us staying there, we felt that everyone had enough space.
There are a few resorts that offer 3 Bedroom Grand Villas that are all on one floor. If you have someone in your party who has mobility issues, know that even the villas that are multi-story have a bedroom that is on the main floor. Anyone with difficulty navigating stairs could be assigned to the master bedroom on the main floor, and it would open up a greater number of choices for you. The only exception to this is the 3 Bedroom Beach Cottages at
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. In the cottages, the sleeping arrangements are on the main floor, but the kitchen and living area is upstairs. This might be challenging for those who have difficulty with stairs.
Currently, the resorts that have Grand Villas that are all on one floor are:
Aulani, A Disney Resort & SpaDisney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo HouseCopper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness LodgeDisney’s BoardWalk VillasDisney’s Riviera ResortThe Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & SpaPlease be careful to note that in regards to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas, only Jambo House has single-story Grand Villas. The Grand Villas at
Kidani Village are 2-story.
I hope this helps with your planning, William. Grand Villas are popular and book early, so I recommend booking as soon as you are able. If there is an appropriate Grand Villa at your Home Resort, booking exactly at 11 months would be the best idea. Please let us know if you have any additional questions, we are here to help!
