How do you become an audience member for the filming of the Christmas 2010 day parade? We are planning on being in DW the day after thanksgiving thru the following weekend. Love this panel!

The dates for the taping of the 2010 Christmas parade have not yet been announced. You are correct that this does generally happen the first weekend in December, but this is always subject to change.

The procedure may change, but in 2009, a notice went out in the fall that guests and Orlando area residents could register to be part of the official audience for the parade. The 2009 notice, which was posted on several Disney newletters and chat boards, directed guests to a sign-up website. To make sure you learn about the notice this year, I would subscribe to the weekly newsletter at allears.net. This very reliable independent site does a great job of keeping up to date on Disney happenings. If you're a Twitter user, you can also follow them at @allearsdeb.

I should also warn you that even if you are successful in signing up to be in the parade audience, the parade dates themselves may be rescheduled. I was at WDW during the 2009 Christmas parade taping. Unfortunately, there were some serious rainstorms that shifted the schedule considerably. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you experience good weather during your holiday visit to Walt Disney World.
