Hi Beatrice!I see u recommend early may over early march. In your flo experience, dont the love bugs come in may?our experience @ end of may/early june in 07 was BAD with them but the same time in 08 there was none!I am so hesitant to travel in may! HELP! th

    Hi Regina,

Hope you don't mind but I am jumping in for Beatrice who is taking a break from her Moms Panel duties. I agree that early May is a great time to visit Disney World for a number of reasons. The weather is typically warm but not to humid with little rain. The crowds have slowed down with the end of spring breaks and the passing of Easter and therefore the wait times are usually minimal. The Flower and Garden Festival is occurring at Epcot, which offers some fun and unique activities that guets do not always get to see in other months. It is a beautiful month at the parks and resorts.

You are correct that the lovebugs may create a distraction. Depending on what time in May you are arriving, you may find that the bugs are not out in full force but their numbers will increase as the month passes. The lovebugs are most prominent in spring and fall and are a nuisance but are harmless. Our family has visited many times in early May and have enjoyed the advantages of nice weather and low crowds enough to ignore the bugs. If the bugs are very unsettling for you and your family then you may want to reconsider your vacation dates but if you are able to ignore them, then I recommend the early May trip.

Good luck with your choice and I hope you have a great trip!
