Ahoy Andrew!
So nice to "sea" you back at planDisney with another great question. My family enjoyed a wonderful 7-night
Eastern Caribbean sailing on
Disney Fantasy a few years ago, which made stops at both Tortola, BVI, and
St. Thomas, USVI. I remember seeing souvenir shops within walking distance at both locations, but due to some rough weather over the years, I wanted to be sure to steer you in the right direction for your January sailing.
I double-checked and it appears that Havensight Mall, just a short walk from the West Indian Company Dock/Havensight Mall Dock, is still a bustling shopping area in St. Thomas. You'll find a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants as you make your way off and back on the ship at day's end. My family always likes to purchase a Christmas ornament for each place we travel to, and I've proudly displayed the St. Thomas sand dollar ornament we purchased there each holiday season since our sailing.
When you arrive at
Tortola, you'll dock at the Cruise Pier in Road Town, another lively area where you can stock up on jewelry, clothing and local crafts. After taking a self-guided excursion to
The Baths via ferry to a neighboring island, my family enjoyed lunch at a local restaurant and admired the shops surrounding the beautiful boat-lined harbor before walking back to the ship.
Speaking of excursions, be sure to review all the
Port Adventures available during your sailing. Whether you hope to enjoy beach time, a Catamaran sailing, or even ziplining, there is so much to do and see at each port of call.
I hope this was helpful Andrew. Feel free to sail on back with any additional planning questions. We're always glad to assist!
Magic and memories,
Amy
