Thanks for coming to the Moms Panel for advice, Simon! I was excited to read your question because I did extensive research on the Beachcomber Shacks for our trip in 2017. I'd be happy to share that information, and give you my family's feedback on our experience.
First of all, you're going to love
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, with its tropical island theming and 11 water slides. If you're going in the summer, there's no better way to beat the Florida heat. Since you're ready to take the plunge and rent a cabana for the day, let's dive into some facts.
Beachcomber Shacks include room for up to six guests, and they have amenities such as towels, cushioned chairs, refillable drink mugs, a locker, and a cooler stocked with ice and bottled water. The thing I liked was that it provided a "home base" for our family in a secluded area that was comfortable and calm. We also had a personal attendant who was just a phone call away. She checked on us several times during the day and was happy to place our lunch order for us- we worked up quite an appetite after riding Miss Adventure Falls multiple times, which is a must-do attraction! When my youngest son tripped and skinned his knee, she showed up ready with a first-aid kit and a bag of ice, and the cabana provided a shady resting place while he recovered.
Pricing varies depending on the season, but the current summer rate is $362.10, which includes tax. I know there is sometimes same day availability, but this is a very popular option during the summer months, so I suggest you reserve one now by calling (407) 939-7529. I'm confident you'll have a great time regardless, but renting a Beachcomber Shack will ensure your day at the water park is a little more relaxing. Oh...and don't forget to save room for the Sand Pail from Happy Landings Ice Cream.
Have a fantastic vacation!
