Ahoy there, Heather!
It's great to have you back on the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm thrilled to hear you are planning a voyage with Disney Cruise Line that stops at
Castaway Cay! This beautiful island paradise is my family's favorite port of call because it combines two things we love-the beach and Disney! We always start our day by visiting with Mickey, Minnie and Goofy near the Scuttle's Cove Tram Stop. They will be in their adorable beach attire, so be sure to check your daily cruise newsletter for meet and greet times on the island.
Beach toys will be available for purchase at She Sells, Sea Shells...And Everything Else, which is also located near the first tram stop, Scuttle's Cove. If you decide to purchase a set, it will be a great souvenir that can be enjoyed on other beach trips for years to come. If you have space in your luggage, you are welcome to bring your own from home to use on the Castaway Family Beach. There are some sand toys to play with in Scuttle's Cove, the youth activities club on the island. Kids (ages 3-12) can check-in to this sandy play spot just like the Oceaneer Club and Lab on the ship!
I definitely recommend bringing whatever floatation device your children use for your day on the island. The waves are calm and the water is shallow, so it's the perfect spot to enjoy splashtacular fun as a family. I also suggest venturing over to Spring-a-Leak, which is an awesome 2,400 square foot water play area.
Best wishes for a magical time with Captain Mickey and the gang, Heather! Please let us know if you have any additional questions before you set sail.
Have a wonderful day dreaming of your
Disney Cruise vacation!
Nancy
