Ahoy, Donald, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for sailing by with your question. I’m so happy to help you get ready for your day at
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point!
This beautiful new destination was designed with families in mind, so you are in for a wonderful day. My fellow panelist alum, Tracie, sailed there with her son last year and shared a
fantastic article highlighting the activities they loved most. It’s a quick read with some great photos, and I definitely recommend checking it out before your trip.
If you’re hoping to make the most of your time ashore, I suggest arriving early. While there’s plenty of seating along the shore, the day tends to fly by once you’re there. The Family Beach is complimentary and one of my favorite parts of Lookout Cay... the soft white sand, clear turquoise water, and plenty of chairs with umbrellas make it easy to spend hours relaxing and playing by the sea.
However, there’s no shortage of fun for a 5-year-old! Right beside the Family Beach, you’ll see Rush Out Gush Out, which is the family water play area filled with slides and water features. It’s designed for everyone to enjoy together, and it’s a great way to cool off!
Sebastian’s Cove is another must-visit for families with little ones. This dedicated kids’ area is an extension of the Oceaneer Club onboard, and is staffed by Disney Cruise Line’s trained youth counselors. Kids ages three to ten can enjoy crafts, games, and water play inspired by The Little Mermaid. If your little one is checked in over lunchtime, they’ll even serve them a meal! The Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will notify you when it’s time to pick them up, giving you the perfect chance to sneak over to Serenity Bay for a quiet meal at the adults-only BBQ.
When you need a break from the beach, you can go to the Play-Play Pavilion near True-True BBQ. It’s a shaded, covered area where guests can enjoy games and low-key activities away from the sun. Twice a day, you can catch the Disney Fun in the Sun Beach Bash there, with fun character moments like limbo with Goofy or Chip ’n’ Dale’s Water Brigade. Right next door, the Triton’s Trumpet Stage hosts music, games, and entertainment for the whole family. During my visit, I even saw artists creating beautiful sand castles.
If you're looking for a Port Adventure, the
Pirates of Eleuthera Tour is perfect for families with young children. While I haven't experienced it myself, I've heard good reviews of this swashbuckling adventure that visits Pirate's Cove Beach.
The
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will list all the scheduled activities for your day on Lookout Cay once you’re connected to the ship’s Wi-Fi.
I hope this helps you plan a fin-tastic beach day, Donald!
Sea ya real soon,
Eean
