Hi Macie, and welcome to planDisney!
I’m so glad you stopped by with your question. It sounds like you’re getting ready for a day full of fun at EPCOT, and
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is such a refreshing addition to the park!
This beautiful, self-guided outdoor trail invites guests of all ages to interact with water in playful and meaningful ways. With lush landscaping, gentle music, and clever water effects (including one that even responds when you wave hello), it’s the perfect place to slow down and reconnect with nature. You’ll have the choice to stay dry or to take the “Wet” path where you can splash and play...it’s totally up to you!
Now, about your question: yes, bathing suits are welcome in this area, especially for little ones (or even grown-ups!) who plan to take full advantage of the water features. There’s even a convenient single stall restroom about halfway through the attraction, which makes it easy to change before or after getting wet.
That said, because EPCOT is a family park, Disney does ask that guests wear
appropriate attire throughout the day. While bathing suits are fine in areas with water play, it’s recommended to pair them with a cover-up or shirt and shoes when walking through the rest of the park. Here’s how Disney puts it: “Proper attire, including shoes and shirts, must be worn at all times. Clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment is not permitted.” Using good judgment and keeping comfort in mind is always the best approach if you’re planning to enjoy the wetter side of this attraction!
Oh, and don’t forget to stop by and meet Moana herself nearby in World Nature! She loves chatting with guests about her adventures beyond the reef. And if you spot a PhotoPass photographer by the beautiful Te Fiti figure, be sure to ask for the Magic Shot. It’s one of my favorites!
Have the best time exploring EPCOT, Macie. As Moana reminds us, “The ocean is calling” and I think Journey of Water is calling your name, too!
