I have banked points, but how do I use them? When I go to book a room, it looks like it’s taking them from 2021, and my use year isn’t up until Apr 30??

Welcome to planDisney, Amy! I’m so glad that you decided to stop by with your question about using your Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points. I love the flexibility that a Disney Vacation Club Membership provides, giving the option to bank and borrow points to maximize your vacation options.

It sounds like you have a May Use Year, which means you will receive a new allotment of Vacation Points on May 1, 2021. If you banked your 2020 Vacation Points into 2021, that moves them to the next use year, meaning between May 1, 2021 to May 1, 2022. In order to book a vacation using your Vacation Points for April 2021, you would need to then borrow Vacation Points from the 2021 Use Year. Please note that if you do borrow points for an April 2021 vacation, and you do not use them by April 30, 2021, they will expire. Borrowed Vacation Points cannot be returned to their original Use Year, just as banked Vacation Points cannot be returned to their original Use Year.

You can find more information on the rules of borrowing Vacation Points and the rules of banking Vacation Points on the Disney Vacation Club website. I hope that this information helps you to better use your Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points and that your next vacation is absolutely magical! Please stop back by planDisney any time we can help answer your vacation questions.
