Ahoy, Mandy!
Your sailors are going to have the time of their lives in the
Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab aboard Disney Cruise Line! They'll be inspired and entertained in these imaginative spaces and will love getting to know the best youth counselors at sea. My children have enjoyed the programming so much on our past cruises that I've had trouble getting them to leave...even at closing time!
At this time, the youth clubs are using Oceaneer Bands that look just like
MagicBands. The biggest difference is a security clasp that is used so it cannot be taken on and off without the clasp being removed by a youth counselor. If the band is uncomfortable, be sure to let the youth counselors know, and they will be happy to adjust it until it feels just right. The last time we sailed the bands were blue (always subject to change) and were decorated with a decal of Captain Mickey, the year and Disney Cruise Line. The is no charge for the band unless your sailor(s) wants to keep it as a souvenir. In that case, a $12.95 (always subject to change) charge per band will show up on your stateroom account at the end of the cruise. My son kept his on our most recent sailing, and one of the youth counselors removed the clasp on the last night so he could easily take it on and off. If you plan on returning the band, your son and/or daughter will leave it with the youth counselor when he/she leaves for the last time. You can pick up the Oceaneer Bands either in the port or once aboard in the Oceaneer Club or Lab. If the line is long at the port, I always recommend waiting until you can stop by the youth spaces after embarkation. It is typically much quicker to do it there.
I hope I've helped! Please write back if we can assist you further.
Have a magical day!
