For the Bahamian Cruise to Castaway Cay, do our 6 and 10 year old children need full Passport books? Or will the Passport Cards be adequate?

Welcome aboard, Thomas! You must be getting ready for an exciting adventure at sea with Disney Cruise Line and Captain Mickey! Your children are at such great ages to really dive into all the magic that awaits them!

You'll be happy to know that full Passport Books are not required of U.S. Citizens sailing to the Bahamas on Disney Cruise Line. You may use your children's Passport Cards if they already have those. Alternatively, children can travel with their parents on this itinerary using an original or copy of their state-issued (not hospital issued) birth certificate. Adults may use their government-issued I.D., such as driver's license, along with an original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate.

My family prefers to use Passport Books for all of our travels, as we want to be prepared in the event that we have an emergency in port and couldn't return to the ship. But, for this Bahamian sailing, you certainly have a few options as far as documents go, Thomas.

I've given you a quick summary of requirements, but please read all of the details about the required travel documents on Disney Cruise Line's website, so you have the most up-to-date information, then get ready to head out to sea!

    Have fun planning, Thomas!
