What bags are permitted into Disneyland?

Greetings, Pedro, and welcome to planDisney! It's almost time to experience the magic of the Disneyland Resort – can you already smell the popcorn and hear the Disneyland Band? Let's make sure you're set for a smooth arrival.

Pedro, as you enter the Resort, you'll pass through a security screening. This is where items are flagged if they're deemed unfit to be brought into the theme parks or the Downtown Disney District. The Property Rules state that bags or suitcases larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high are not allowed. Backpacks, purses, diaper bags, and similar items within these sizes are generally allowed, provided they don't have features that may cause them to be otherwise flagged. I suggest that you look through the Disneyland Resort Rules to see the list of prohibited items, and please remember that Cast Members at the security checkpoints have the final say on what is allowed in the parks.

When I visit the Disneyland Resort, there are a few items I almost always throw into my backpack. That includes a few packaged snacks, a reusable water bottle (not glass), sunscreen, a lightweight jacket, a hat, and a portable charger. If you forget a charger, there are locations throughout the Resort where you can purchase one and swap it out as needed to stay fully charged.

Consider renting a locker to store your items as you experience attractions, dining, and entertainment offerings. There are locations inside the parks and within the esplanade area. That would give you the convenience of bringing any items you might need while allowing you to explore the park without being weighed down. It's also nice not having to deal with bags on attractions that require you to safely store them.

Pedro, I hope this information is helpful as you prepare for your upcoming adventures at the Disneyland Resort. If you have any questions during your visit, you can stop by one of the Guest Relations spots around the park or use the chat feature in the Disneyland mobile app. Of course, you're always welcome to reach out to us at planDisney, too – we're always happy to help!

    Wishing you magic,
