Can I use baggage claim at Disneyland Resort hotel even though I'm not staying there? We will be flying in and plan to go to Trader Sam's, but are not staying at Disneyland resort, so unsure what we can do with our luggage.

Hi Laykin! Welcome to planDisney! Starting your visit with a stop at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is such a fun way to kick things off, and I’m happy to help you plan for a smooth arrival.

According to current Disneyland Resort hotel policies, luggage storage and bell services are reserved for Guests staying at the Disneyland Resort hotels, so you would not be able to store your bags there if you are not an overnight guest. However, a great alternative is to use the locker rentals available in the Esplanade (the area between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park) or inside the parks. The Esplanade offers the largest locker sizes, which can be especially helpful if you are traveling with suitcases. There are two locker locations in this area: one to the left of the Disneyland entrance and another to the left of the Disney California Adventure entrance. These lockers come in a range of sizes, from small to jumbo, giving you flexibility depending on what you are bringing with you.

Locker pricing varies by size, so I recommend checking the Disneyland website for the most up-to-date information. Inside the parks, lockers are available on Main Street, U.S.A. and Buena Vista Street, though those locations typically offer only small and medium sizes.

The Esplanade lockers are accessible during regular park hours, and overnight storage is not permitted. Since you’ll be arriving with luggage, you will pass through one of the security checkpoints (such as Harbor Boulevard, Downtown Disney, or the entrance near Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa), where security may take a quick look inside your bags. Keeping items organized and easy to access can help make that process quick and easy.

Once your bags are safely stored, you’ll be all set to relax and enjoy the immersive atmosphere at Trader Sam’s. If you’re able to grab a seat on the outdoor patio, it’s a great spot to unwind and ease into the magic of your Disneyland day.

Laykin, I hope this helps you feel confident planning your arrival and enjoying a stress-free start to your visit. If any other questions come up, we’d love to welcome you back to planDisney.

Wishing you a smooth arrival and a magical beginning to your Disneyland adventure!
