Ahoy there, Sowjanya,
Welcome aboard planDisney! Sounds like you are getting your bags packed for a magical
Disney Cruise Line vacation. So let's get you in ship-shape and ready to sail!
I’m happy to let you know that each Guest may board with a reasonable amount of clothing and personal items, not to exceed two checked bags per person. The checked bags do not have to comply with specific dimensions or weight. The key term is “reasonable” since you will need to store your luggage in your stateroom so just remember that as you select which luggage to bring. If you need help deciding what items to bring, Disney Cruise Line provides a
helpful packing list!
Each Guest is also allowed one carry-on (measuring no greater than 14 inches wide, 9 inches deep and 22 inches in height in order to fit in the security scanning at the port) as well as one personal bag. Sowjanya, I recommend that you place anything you may need as soon as you board the ship in your carry-on bag. I always include the basics like sunscreen and a refillable water bottle. Remember to pack any medications, valuables, and your cruise documents and identification in your carry-on. Now, you will need to keep your carry-on and personal bag with you from the time you board until your stateroom is ready, which could be a few hours later, so keep that in mind as you decide what to carry on with you.
Now, here is another tip! Over the years, I’ve opted for bringing fewer things in my luggage so that I can make sure to save a little room in my suitcase for souvenirs like the specially designed Disney Cruise Line merchandise from
Mickey’s Mainsail or a local souvenir from
one of the ports of call.
Thanks for sailing by
planDisney with your question, Sowjanya, and we hope to see you again real soon!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
