Welcome to planDisney, Catherine! I'm glad you stopped by with your question. It is important to "
Know Before You Go"!
Guests are welcome to carry a bag or backpack with them into the theme parks. The maximum allowable bag size is 24" by 18" by 15". All Guests and their bags will undergo a
security screening process prior to entering the theme parks and Disney Springs. Clear bags are not required, although they do help expedite the security screening process. Be sure to check the
Walt Disney World Property Rules for a list of prohibited items. Guests may bring snacks or beverages in the park with them, however, glass containers (other than small baby food jars) and alcohol are not permitted.
I prefer to travel with just the bare essentials when visiting the theme parks, so I'll usually stick with a belt bag or small crossbody bag, but sometimes, like when I might need a sweatshirt or rain gear, I'll carry a backpack. Some attractions will have a storage bin under your seat or nearby to stow your belongings; on others, you can simply place your bag at your feet. Certain items, such as umbrellas, glasses cases with a magnetic closure, or larger portable chargers will be flagged at security. If you have these items with you, take them out of your bag and hold them in your hands with your arms out in front of you as you go through the security screening area.
I hope that helps! Please stop by and see us again if you have any additional questions. Enjoy your visit!
