What is the bag size requirements for attractions/rides in Disneyland and California Adventure Park? Also, are there any weight/size restrictions for the rides?

Hi there, Rose! The planDisney team is excited to hear you'll be returning to the magic soon at Disneyland Resort! Your visit will coincide with the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, so I highly recommend including it in your plans.

According to the Disneyland Resort Property Rules, bags must not exceed 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (and cannot have wheels). The good news is, you can bring your bag on most rides at Disneyland! If I have my smaller crossbody style bag, I will usually wear it while riding. However, many attractions have mesh pockets onboard the ride vehicle to hold smaller bags and loose items. If you have a larger backpack, you will simply keep it at your feet.

Jumpin' Jellyfish at Disney California Adventure is one exception; you may be asked to keep your bag at the base of the attraction. Also, prepare to get soaked on Grizzly River Run! If you don't want your gear to get wet, there are free two-hour Lockers located next to the 20-foot tall grizzly bear statue (I forgot my library book was in my backpack, and it emerged from this ride a little soggy). Speaking of lockers, Disneyland is unique in that it offers Locker Rentals both in and outside of the parks (in the Esplanade area located between the two parks), which is very convenient if you prefer not to carry your bag around.

Disneyland Resort attractions don't have a maximum height and weight limit. Cast Members assist guests of all sizes and abilities each and every day, and they strive to make your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth magical! If you feel uncertain, feel free to speak up; some attractions may have tighter queues or seats, and they will have ideas on how to accommodate your specific situation. My good friend, Tony, provided some excellent information to a guest in one of his answers.

I hope this helps, Rose! If you have any other questions, please feel free to write us back. See ya real soon!
