what are the bag policies inside the parks?

    Hi Melissa! Welcome to planDisney!

Are you ready to experience all the magic and wonder of Walt Disney World Resort? No matter which time of year you visit you'll find beautiful weather, four incredible Theme Parks, two Water Parks, and the shopping, dining and entertainment district of Disney Springs. No matter how many times I've visited the Resort it seems like there's always something new for my family to see, do and explore.  I'm very excited to take my children to experience the show Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil & Disney as their "something new" for our next trip!

Since I have very picky eaters we love that Guests visiting Walt Disney World are able to bring in their own food and drinks.  While I LIVE for trying out new dining experiences like Space 220 Restaurant and Steakhouse 71, my two little ones would eat PB & J every day of their lives if I let them!  Thankfully Guests are able to bring small coolers, backpacks, and bags for all the "stuff" they may need for their little ones or to pack their souvenirs in for the way home!

While all bags are subject to a screening and/or security search, you should be all set to bring in what you need as long as your bag is no larger than 24" long, 15" wide and 18" high.  Glass containers are not permitted in the Theme Parks unless they are baby food jars, and ice packs should be used to keep snacks and drinks cold, as loose ice is not allowed.

Once you're playing in the Parks you'll find that most rides and shows allow you to bring your bag right with you throughout the attraction.  Many more exciting rides, such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Expedition Everest -  Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, have small pouches on the seat back in front of you so that you're able to store your belongings while you ride. On more relaxing rides like "it's a small world" you'll most likely just keep your backpack on.

Since we travel with a stroller on every trip we often leave our bags in the bottom of the stroller while we ride, but if your bag does not fit at your feet or in the pouch provided on the attraction you may want to look into renting a locker. Each Theme Park and Water Park has lockers for rent and you'll only pay once to be able to use it all you want during the day.

Pack those snacks, buy all those souvenirs and enjoy every magical moment you spend at Walt Disney World Resort!

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
