what do you do with a backpack for rides like space mountain

    Greetings Dana!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm happy to assist you with this question. I love taking a medium-sized backpack or crossbody bag into the theme parks with all of my park touring essentials. I'm happy to report Guests are allowed to carry bags or backpacks onto the attractions at Walt Disney World Resort.

Some attractions do feature a dedicated storage compartment in the ride vehicle. For thrill attractions, I usually stow my bag on the floor of the ride vehicle with a foot through one strap. When riding Space Mountain, I primarily place my backpack on the floor of the ride and secure it beside my leg. On some of the slow rides such as "it's a small world," I prefer to hold my bag on my lap or place on the seat beside me. To be honest, I've never encountered any issues with bringing a bag onto an attraction and have never lost any of my belongings.

Lockers are available to rent in all four theme parks and both water parks. Although I usually like to keep my bag with me at all times for easier accessibility, you may prefer to store your bag in a locker throughout the day.

I hope this information is helpful as you plan your upcoming vacation, Dana. Let us know if you have any new questions. Best wishes for a magical trip!

    Happy Planning,
    Jodie
