Hey there, Margaret!
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you found us here while you get your Donald Ducks in a row before your visit to The Happiest Place On Earth next month. You sound like a busy planner just like me, and that puts a big smile on my face because my little man-cub loves it when I pack his snacks and favorite foods from home!
Margaret, when I visit the theme parks and the
Downtown Disney District, I usually bring along what could be considered a backpack cooler. It’s actually an
insulated diaper bag that wears like a backpack and has a water-proof thermal lining. This way, I can keep my infant’s milk and toddler’s snacks at the perfect temperature. According to the list of
Prohibited Items at the Disneyland Resort, as long as your backpack doesn’t have wheels and
is smaller than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm), you should have no trouble at the security checkpoints. Just remember, hard-sided coolers larger than a 6-pack are not allowed.
Also Margaret, loose or dry ice isn’t permitted, but when my husband joins us, he packs frozen water bottles in a soft-sided cooler to keep deli meats, fruits, and cheeses fresh. As the day goes on and the bottles melt, we end up with chilled water or a sports drink to enjoy. I also like to carry a reusable bottle for the
filling stations throughout the resort.
I hope this answers your question and helps you to plan a smooth and pleasant day at the resort next month, Margaret. If you think of any more questions or
want more tips, you don't have to go over, sideways, and under to find them. All you gotta do is rub that lamp…I mean,
reach out to me again, ‘cause I’m on the job, you big nabob.
You ain’t never had a (planDisney) friend like me,
Danielle
