We just got back from WDW, we had such a good time that I am planning on taking my girls down again this summer without my husband. Do you recommend that I take them by myself ages 8 & 6? If so what resort? Thanks

Hey Roxane! I have done that before and what a blast my girls and I had!  I highly recommend it and where you stay really depends on your budget for this girls only trip.
If there is no budget then a deluxe resort on the monorail system might be the easiest since you are going it alone.  But you can also look at it this way, "it's just the girls so the resort is not a big deal."  If that is the case then why not save some money and grab a good rate at a value resort.  I have stayed at Pop Century and several of the All Stars.  They all offer that same wonderful Disney customer service, and after all, how much are you and the girls actually going to be in the room?  If you look at a moderate resort, check out Coronado Springs.  The rooms have been renovated and are beautiful.  Complete with robes and spa bath products!
Have fun on your girls only trip, and please come back with any other questions you might have about planning your summer getaway.
