Just got back from WDW and am considering planning a Disney cruise for our vacation next year. I am a single mom, so it'll just be my daughter and I. I am afraid of how daunting that can be. Are Disney cruises single parent friendly?

Welcome aboard, Tiffany! There's just something about wrapping up one Disney vacation that makes you anxious to plan another one as soon as possible, isn't there? That's how I always feel when we arrive home from a magical trip. I can tell that you had an amazing time at the Walt Disney World Resort, and I'm so glad you're considering a cruise with Captain Mickey and his crew!

While my family and I normally sail all together, I did have the wonderful opportunity to sneak away, just my son and me, for a mommy-son sailing with Disney, and it was the most wonderful experience ever! Because there are so many activities for you both to enjoy together, as well as adult exclusive activities and youth only activities, you can each enjoy a cruise tailor made for you. Lots of together time to create magical memories, but also some alone time for you and time for your daughter to meet new friends and hang out with the awesome counselors in the Youth Clubs, included in your cruise cost.

I cherished those dinners, just my son and me, where we had heart to heart talks, got to know our servers and enjoyed their jokes and games at the table, and tried all sorts of new foods. Since the food is all included, I encouraged my son to try new things he's never tasted before (no extra cost to me if he didn't like them) and he found some new favorites! We attended the Broadway-style shows each night and skipped down the halls hand in hand afterward singing songs. It was the best trip!

Disney Cruise Line also has daily meet-up's for single parents, so you'll have the chance to socialize and get to know some other cruisers while your daughter meets friends in the clubs. I highly recommend a Disney cruise for a parent and child traveling together! Have fun planning, Tiffany!
