Just came back from Disneyland 2 weeks ago and I am planning my next Disney vacation already! Thinking of taking a cruise next Feb for my son’s b-day. Question about verandah. Is it safe for a tall 5 year-old? Thanks.

    Ahoy Diana!
I love to hear you are already thinking about your next magical vacation with Disney and thrilled that you are considering one of Disney's four spectacular vessels for your son's birthday!  I celebrated my last birthday at sea so I know he will have the most amazing celebration!  Safety is Disney Cruise Line's number one concern so they definitely planned well for their littlest cruisers by creating outdoor spaces that are family-friendly.  You will find childproof locks on the verandah doors, and the railings are made out of a clear, plexiglass that comes above the waist of an adult.  This is a great feature because your son will be able to see the stunning oceanviews without any obstruction.  There is furniture on the verandah which can be removed by your stateroom host if it's a concern.  My family has stayed in staterooms with verandahs on previous sailings, and I always felt very comfortable with my children being able to enjoy the space safely!
I hope my answer is helpful, Diana!  Please let me know what other questions you may have as you plan.  If you haven't already, be sure to order the Free Cruise-Planning DVD to assist you as well!
Have a magical day and happy planning!
