Just got back from 6 day trip and returning in Aug.We always stay at POR(fam of 5 + baby) because of cost. What are chances of ever getting free upgrades to a deluxe resort? Also planning to go back in early spring, best time for family? best couple resort?

Hi, Heather!  I won't say it never happens, because there is always that very rare occasion that something might happen, but it is highly unlikely that you would be upgraded from a moderate resort to a deluxe resort.  Usually, if an upgrade is offered, it is an upgrade to a room within the resort you already have booked.  For example, if you have a standard room at Port Orleans Riverside, there is a chance you might be upgraded to a water view room at no additional cost.

Spring is a great time to visit Walt Disney World, but you should try to avoid spring break if you are hoping to go when it's less crowded.  Easter is April 4, 2010, and many spring breaks start a few weeks before through the week after.  I would say your best dates would be late April through early May.

As for the best couple's resort, I think you can make any of them special and romantic.  I love the Coronado Springs resort, because it's so beautiful to walk around at night.  I also think Port Orleans French Quarter just has a very romantic vibe, especially with the carriage ride in the evening.  My husband and I also like staying over by the Boardwalk, so we can stroll the Boardwalk and soak up the atmosphere.

I hope your next vacation is absolutely magical!
