Hello! A while back we booked an ADR at the Brown Derby based on an old menu. My mom is a picky eater. We noticed that potatoes as a side are no longer listed. Is it possible to order off menu, and still get some sort of potato side with her steak entree?

    Hi Kalli,

While I can't make any promises, in my experience it is often possible to make substitutions at table service restaurants, particularly at signature restaurants such as the Brown Derby. For example, Jiko used to have mac 'n cheese as the standard side dish with their steak dish. They took the mac off the menu, but they'd still make it for anyone who asked. Also, they're quite used to making special items or improvising for guests with allergies or other food sensitivities.

Additionally, if there's a side dish that appears elsewhere on the menu, that would be a very easy swap which they'd be happy to make. The children's menu at Brown Derby includes roasted red potatoes that could be added to your mom's meal.

Again, I can't make promises, but I feel confident that they'd be able to find a side dish that would make your mom very happy.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
