Hello there, Lynn! Welcome to planDisney - so glad you found us! I'm so pleased to hear you'll be traveling from across the pond to
Walt Disney World Resort this spring, and I'll be happy to provide some information to make pool time safe and fun for the whole family during your trip. Let's dive right in!
Water safety is the #1 priority at the
Water Parks and the pools at the Disney
Resort Hotels. There are infant and child life vests provided at all of these locations. Per the Walt Disney World
property rules, any other flotation devices must be United States Coast Guard-approved, and it is up to the discretion of the lifeguards at each specific location whether they can be used or not. At the resort pools, Guests with large floats that prevent the guards from scanning the pool may be asked to remove them. At the water parks, certain attractions allow baby float tubes, with parents required to be in contact with the child at all times.
Lynn, you picked a perfect spot to enjoy some pool time during your trip.
Doubloon Lagoon, the pool at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, is a favorite of our family. There's a fun water play area for little ones and a great slide into the pool for bigger kids and beyond. You can also take the path over to the
Riverside section of Port Orleans and check out the kiddie pool there!
I hope you're getting excited for your May vacation - it will be here before you know it! Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Lynn, and please come see us again if we can help with any other questions to make this trip a practically perfect one.
See Ya Real Soon!
Susan
