Hi Gloria,
Welcome to planDisney! I'm glad you stopped by with your good question. I know there are lots of things to juggle when traveling with a little sailor (6 months old on embarkation day for most itineraries), so I hope I can provide some help.
Guests may bring pre-packaged, unopened formula on board, which I recommend packing in your carry-on bag. Unfortunately, your idea may result in the formula not being allowed on board. Some brands sell individual packets of formula, which would be permitted for certain. Keep in mind that due to Customs regulations, opened packages of any food are not permitted off the ship.
Now, you have a few options when it comes to water:
- You can carry on as much water as you would like. You will need to carry it with you until your stateroom is available, which could be a few hours after boarding. A roll-aboard bag would be ideal in this situation, just remember it must be no larger than 22 in high, 14 in wide, and 9 in deep to fit through the security screening.
- You can pre-purchase water from the Onboard Gifts site. These orders must be placed 3 days before the sail date. You can also order water once you've boarded from Room Service.
- You can use the water from the complimentary Beverage Stations on the pool deck and in the buffet-service restaurants (Cabanas or Marceline Market, depending on the ship you are sailing). Your server in the Rotational Dining rooms will also be happy to provide filtered tap water for you.
And here's a bonus tip: if your little swashbuckler has begun eating solid foods, you can ask for fresh pureed vegetables in the dining rooms and through room service.
Gloria, did you know that when
traveling with little ones on Disney Cruise Line you can request complimentary items such as diaper disposal units, bottle warmers and sterilizers? You can also
request complimentary Pack-n-Play portable cribs that your stateroom host will set up and take down for you each day. Since the ships are large and there is a lot of walking to do, you can also request a complimentary stroller. These items are available on a first-come-first-served basis. To reserve a portable crib or other item,
sign in to My Reservations, select Special Requests, and complete the Special Requests form. Since your cruise is just a few days away, I recommend
calling Disney Cruise Line and making your request over the phone.
You and your family will have a wonderful adventure, Gloria! Thanks for sailing by planDisney; SEA ya real soon!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
